They Lied to You? Or Is the Truth More Complicated?

 

If you've spent any time in crypto, you've probably heard the promises.

"XRP will replace SWIFT."

"Banks are about to buy billions of XRP."

"It's going to $100... $500... even $1,000."

For years, these predictions fueled one of the most passionate communities in cryptocurrency. Millions of investors believed institutional adoption would inevitably lead to extraordinary XRP prices.

But what if the story was never that simple?

One of the biggest lessons I've learned while researching XRP Reality Check is that successful investing isn't about choosing between blind optimism and constant skepticism. It's about following the evidence wherever it leads.

Yes, Ripple has accomplished remarkable things.

The company continues expanding into institutional custody, tokenization, stablecoins, prime brokerage, and enterprise financial infrastructure. Partnerships with major financial organizations demonstrate that Ripple is building real technology for real institutions.

Those are genuine accomplishments.

But they don't automatically answer the question every investor wants answered:

What does this actually mean for XRP's price?

That question led me down a fascinating path.

I revisited liquidity models, exchange order books, Ripple's evolving business strategy, the role of RLUSD, tokenization, and one of the XRP community's most discussed ideas—the Shane Ellis Theory.

Rather than dismissing the theory or accepting it without question, I wanted to understand what it got right and what has changed since it was first introduced.

The result surprised me.

Some of the assumptions behind the biggest XRP price predictions deserve serious reconsideration.

At the same time, Ripple's expanding institutional ecosystem may actually strengthen parts of the long-term utility case that many critics overlook.

In other words...

The reality is more nuanced than either side often admits.

Why I Finally Shared This Story

 

There are some stories that stay with us.

Not because we fully understand them.

Not because we can explain them.

But because something inside them refuses to leave.

Years ago, someone shared a story with me.

At the time, I didn’t think much about whether it would ever become a book.

Life moved on.

Years passed.

Projects came and went.

Books were written.

But every now and then I would think about that conversation again.

The person who originally shared the story with me has since passed away.

He was recognized as one of the world’s leading realistic impressionist artists, but what stayed with me most was not his accomplishments—it was the story.

For a long time I wrestled with whether I should share it.

Not because I feared criticism.

Stories always meet criticism.

And not because I needed to decide whether every detail could be explained.

That wasn’t really the point.

I kept returning to one question:

What if people reject it?

Then another thought eventually replaced that one:

What if someone needs it?

That changed everything.

The result became my newest novel:

Where the Footprints Stopped: A Story Shared at the End of a Lifetime

This is not a story written to convince anyone of extraordinary things.

It is not written to prove impossible events.

At its heart, this is a story about what happens afterward.

About someone who reached a difficult season in life.

Someone who thought the story was over.

Someone who eventually discovered that life still had chapters left.

Hope.

Perspective.

Faith.

Questions.

Healing.

The reminder that one difficult day does not define a future.

One of my favorite ideas from the book is simple:

You do not need to know what tomorrow looks like before deciding to keep going.

Life has a way of surprising us.

Sometimes beautifully.

Sometimes painfully.

But often differently than we imagined.

That journey led me deeper into scripture, deeper into questions of covenant, family, mercy, and eternal purpose.
